This fun group of seniors (55+) gets together every other month in the Fellowship Hall for a homemade lunch and an interesting program. Folks start gathering at 11 am for fellowship with welcome and devotion beginning at 11:30 am.
This month the menu will be apple cider, Caesar salad, pork tenderloin with plum sauce, scalloped potatoes, Italian green beans and a one time dessert, salted caramel and chocolate tart from our secret chef. For this month’s program, Herb Lewis will present “The Magic of Bird Migration”. Each Spring and Fall, for a two to three week period, thousand of migrating songbirds fly over the Tennessee Valley on their epic journey between their nesting areas in the northern parts of North America and wintering areas in the tropics. Join us as Herb Lewis shares some secrets of creating a magnet to attract some of these birds to your own backyard. He and his wife Terry have also sponsored and helped develop the Lewis Birding Trail and Lewis Bird Watch at the Huntsville Botanical Garden.
If you would like to attend, please sign up in Communication Central by October 14 so our kitchen angels know how much food to prepare.
