A Life-Changing Faith Formation Event of the ELCA. All youth who are entering 8th grade through 12th grade this year (2023) are eligible to attend the 2024 ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans. Every three years, thousands of high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives.

We will have an interest meeting in the youth room on Sunday, July 30, following worship for all St. Mark’s youth (and parents) who are interested in attending. Also-we will be looking for any parents who would like to help chaperone the trip. Responsibilities to be defined.
It is an opportunity that St. Mark’s has not had since 2018 due to COVID and will not have again until 2027. Registration begins September 1, 2023 at the lowest price (prices go up in November). The approximate cost is $1000 per participant. Parents will be asked to pay $375 – the remaining will come from fundraising and designated church funds.
This is a lot to think about, but it is a big deal and a HUGE memory for our youth! Please prayerfully consider having your kids attend.
